Synthetic Latex

Synthetic latex is rubber foam created using polymers not originating from rubber tree sap.  While synthetic latex is often portrayed by proponents of natural latex as an inferior counterpart to natural latex, synthetic latex is economically cheaper to produce while being capable of manifesting the same durability and buoyancy found in natural latex.  Synthetic latex is commonly produced in countries with cold climates such as Belgium and China where there is no tropical environment to cultivate rubber tree plantations.
